Here I am, back for another blogging award… I couldn’t be happier because this is my second in about two weeks- how times have changed!
I’ve been meaning to do this since last weekend but have been very busy with a trip to Portsmouth for a university applicant day. In short, it was a success and it looks like I’m hopefully going to be studying there in September. I was the only journalism with media student there on the day so I had some one to one time with lecturers and older students, talking about ideas for stories and making some vox pops with university staff. I loved the day and frankly, I can’t wait to be a university student!
Anyway, enough of my excited rambling- back to the actual reason I’m writing this blog post! Thank you SO much to Girlalert for nominating me for the Sunshine Blogger Award. Make sure you go check out what she’s currently writing about, not to mention follow her and give her posts some likes!
Here are my answers to the 11 questions sent by Girlalert:
If you could read only one author for the rest of your life, who would it be?
This question is a hard one because I mix and match between reading different authors and journalists. If I had to choose, I would probably read Dawn O’Porter’s work: I love her comical writing style and no nonsense attitude.
What is one item in your closet that you don’t understand why you bought?
There are probably a few things like this that I should be getting rid of, but the obvious item that comes to mind is my school leavers hoodie that I bought at the end of year 11. I wasn’t even leaving! I think I bought it because everyone else was and I wanted the names of the people I’d know from year 7 to be on my hoodie. Safe to say, it just wasn’t worth the £20 I spent on it.
What is the last song you listened to?
I last listened to Ed Sheeran- ‘What Do I Know’ in the car with my sister and her fiancé this weekend. I don’t think I’ll ever bore of his ‘Divide’ album!
What is the last book you read?
I’m actually reading a few books on the go at the moment, and have been doing for some time now, so I wouldn’t be lying if I said ‘I don’t know’. However, I’m currently reading ‘Mirror Mirror’, which Cara Delevingne was partly responsible for writing, and I would definitely recommend it to some of my younger teenage readers!
What is the last movie you watched?
The last movie I watched was ‘A Royal Night Out’ with my Mum and Dad. We seem to be having a lot of Saturday movie nights since it’s cold and miserable outside, and this film was perfect to watch with the family for a few laughs and some escapism!
What do you look for in a friend? Why?
The main things I look for in a friend are kindness and the ability to make me laugh (plus, the ability to laugh at my awful jokes- if any of my friends are reading this, you know exactly what I mean!) I think looking out for each other and having a giggle is really what friendship should be based around.
If you had to be someone else in this world, who would you be, excluding fictional characters?
I would say Emma Watson, simply because I would love to be making a difference to girls and women around the world who don’t have the same opportunities as their male peers, she is really talented (didn’t we all want to be her when she played Belle in the live action adaption of ‘Beauty and the Beast’?) and she is so gorgeous (as the Disney film name suggests!)
What is the most positive thing you have gained from blogging?
The most positive thing I have gained is confidence in my writing. I never thought that so many people would like to read my posts and it is has helped to make me certain that journalism is the career path I want to go down.
If you could be related to one celebrity, who would it be?
I think it would be cool to be related to someone like Hugh Jackman. He seems like a really down to earth and funny person, he knows practically EVERYONE in Hollywood in some way or another and he would be amazing to do carpool karaoke with on family car journeys!
What are your current obsession/s?
I am currently obsessed with purple eyeshadow. I don’t know why but I’ve really started using a shade I got from H+M a while ago again- I think it’s really complimentary!
Why do you blog?
I started blogging because my school’s careers adviser said it would be worthwhile experience if I wanted to be a journalist, but now it has become a hobby: something I love to spend my time doing and as I said earlier, something that gives me a lot of confidence.
The rules of the award state that you should nominate 11 other blogs to do the award. As I did an award not so long ago and nominated 11 people then, I thought it might be better to nominate 5 people- but 5 of my new followers so I can learn a bit more about them. They are:
The 11 questions I would like to ask you are as follows:
- Why did you start blogging?
- Which of your blog posts are you most proud of?
- What are three words that best describe your personality?
- If you could meet anyone in the world for a coffee, who would you meet?
- What is your dream job?
- What are your hobbies?
- Where is your favourite place to go to and why?
- What is one thing that is definitely on your bucket list?
- What is one film that you would recommend that everyone watches?
- What is one song that you would recommend that everyone hears?
- What can readers expect from your blog in the future?
Thanks for reading today! I have to say that being nominated for this award and The Liebster Award and all your wonderful comments just means the world to me. Thank you!!
